During construction of the Croatian motorway network, which started in 1997 and has lasted ever since, Institut IGH provided some of its services on majority of sections. As an indispensable partner to its clients and contractors, it has provided services of development of conceptual designs, all design types, field investigations and testing, technical supervision, studies and consulting, laboratory services etc. The Croatian motorway network consists of more than 1250 km of built and equipped motorways, over 800 bridges and 80 km of tunnels, which makes it the greatest developmental infrastructure project in Croatia. The longest tunnels in Croatia on these motorways were designed at Institut IGH and they received an international award for safety and equipment as The Safest Tunnels in Europe in 2007 and 2008.
