Scope and description of consulting services:
· preparation of conceptual design and detailed design documentation;
· procurement of the provisional (location) permit and building permit;
· participation in preparation of bidding documents for contractor selection;
· technical and financial supervision of construction work.
PROJECT DURATION: 2006 - 2009
The project is aimed at building a new ferry port so as to move the road traffic from to the old town core (peninsula) and to significantly improve the old town core conditions for tourism.
As a port of national interest, the Port of Zadar benefited from guaranties given by the Government of the Republic of Croatia, and was thus able to obtain loan from EIB and KfW (European Investment Bank and German Development Bank) for the construction of the port infrastructure and superstructure.
The project includes construction of the new multifunctional port which is made of the fishing port, island-based terminal, waterfront terminal, international terminal, and the cruiser - ro-ro terminal. In addition to the waterfront facilities, the work includes construction of parking lots, road infrastructure, links to rapid urban roadways, and improvement of the entire infrastructure in this area. The construction of terminal building for domestic, international and cruiser traffic is also envisaged.
